Depth of topics in widget This is to set how many levels of children are shown in widgets before moving remaining topics to a "Show all" menu. Individual widgets can be set to show less than this depth of topics, but not more.

Enable node topics system If you don't use the node topics system, you can completely disable it but still keep the all threads and new threads pages. This must be checked to use Node Topics.

Enable thread topics system If you don't use the thread topics system, you can completely disable it but still keep the all threads and new threads pages. This must be checked to use Thread Topics.

Note: You will need to Rebuild topics counters under Tools if you are re-enabling the thread topics system and posts have been made since it was disabled.

Show new threads page The new threads page shows a list of threads recently started in the same way that the new posts page shows a list of threads recently posted in. It is still possible to set new threads as the forums default page if this is disabled.

Show all threads page The all threads page shows a list of all threads, which can be filtered and sorted. It is still possible to set all threads as the forums default page if this is disabled.

Allow topic filtering on forum pages This includes forum view, all threads view and may include some pages from other add-ons that use the forum route.

Allow topic filtering on find threads pages This includes the your threads, threads with your posts and unanswered threads pages. The watched threads page is not currently supported.

Allow topic filtering on what's new pages This includes the new posts and new threads pages. The what's new overview page is not currently supported.

Allow topic filtering on trending pages This includes all trending pages. Requires [TH] Trending add-on to be installed.

Allow topic widgets to be added to any position By default, topics widgets can only be placed in certain positions. For advanced users, this restriction can be removed by selecting this option. Clicking on a topic in a widget on a non-filterable page will redirect to the all threads page. Note: This will add an additional query and additional Javascript to every page, which could increase page load times if you have a very large number of topics.

Maximum additional thread topics Defines how many thread topics can be assigned in addition to the main topic. Setting this to zero will mean that threads can only be assigned to a maximum of one thread topic.

Number of thread topics to show when creating new thread This is to set the number of thread topics to show when creating new thread before showing a search box and moving remaining thread topics to an "All" menu, if no topic has already been selected.

Number of topics to show in horizontal widget This is to set the maximum number of topics to show in horizontal scroller filters before moving remaining topics to a "Show all" menu. Individual widgets can be set to show less than this number of topics, but not more. This can also be set in ACP > Topics > Layout.

Number of topics to show in vertical widget This is to set the maximum number of topics to show in simple vertical filters before moving remaining topics to a "Show all" menu. Individual widgets can be set to show less than this number of topics, but not more. This can also be set in ACP > Topics > Layout.

Thread search filter This option allows you to control if your users are able to filter thread and post searches by thread topics, node topics or both. If no thread topics have been created, this option will be ignored.

Thread topics sort field The attribute by which thread topics should be sorted in the "All topics" list and when creating a thread. This ordering is also used in the admin control panel.

Thread topics sort order Decides whether topics are sorted ascending, descending, or defaulted based on the Thread topics sort field.

Maximum number of thread topics selectable from same group It will only be possible to select a maximum of this number of thread topics from each thread topic group. Thread topics that are not within a thread topic group will be unaffected.

Thread topics filter matching algorithm Setting the filter to "Best match" or "Matches any" will show results where threads contain any of the selected thread topics, while setting the filter to "Matches all" will only show results where threads contain all of the selected thread topics. "Best match" additionally orders results by the number of thread topics matched first.

Redirect forum list to topic list If this option is enabled and there is at least one thread topic in ACP > Topics > Layout, we will redirect the forum list to the thread topic list. Doing this will completely replace the default XenForo forum list and forum view which may break some add-ons or partially remove functionality from some add-ons that interact with the forum list. This should only be done if all threads are assigned to at least one thread topic.

Replace new thread modal with thread topics modal If this is selected and there is at least one thread topic in ACP > Topics > Layout, the default "Post New Thread" button on the forum list will allow users to select a thread topic instead of a forum.
