Trending Configuration
To be able to show off trending, navigate to Content > Trending > Click “Add Configuration”. Then select the content type before filling out all the required information shown below to create your trending configuration.
The options below may vary based on the content type chosen.
Configuration ID - This field allows you to input the ID of the trending configuration.
Content type - This shows what content type was chosen before the configuration was created.
Title - This field allows you to set a custom title for this configuration, for example you could use: Trending Threads - Main Forum - Level 1.
Display order - This will determine what order the trending thread configuration is displayed in if multiple are active.
Max Age - The maximum age (in days) from a specified date column for the content type to show up in this trending list.
Algorithm - This setting allows you to choose the basic algorithm of what the trending configuration follows based on the content type. These include:
- Replies + views per minute
- Replies per minute
- Views per minute
- Reaction score per minute
- Reaction score + views per minute
- Replies + reaction score per minute
- Replies + views + reaction score per minute
- Positive ratings (4 and 5 star) per minute
- Downloads per minute
- Positive ratings (4 and 5 star) + views + comments per minute
- Positive ratings (4 and 5 star) + views per minute
- Positive ratings (4 and 5 star) + comments per minute
Nodes/Categories - This setting allows you to choose what nodes/categories the trending configuration is used in. When left blank it is used in every forum or category.
Minimum Replies - You can choose the minimum number of replies that is needed for the content type to show up in this trending list.
Minimum Views - You can choose the minimum number of users who have viewed it that is needed for the content type to show up in this trending list.
Minimum reaction score - You can choose the minimum reaction score that is needed for the content type to show up in this trending list.
Minimum positive ratings - You can choose the minimum positive ratings that is needed for the content type to show up in this trending list.
Minimum downloads - You can choose the minimum downloads that is needed for the content type to show up in this trending list.
Minimum comments - You can choose the minimum comments that is needed for the content type to show up in this trending list.
To activate this configuration, check off the “Active” box. If it is unchecked it won’t be activated or running.
To show this in a separate tab on your forum navigation, check off the “Show tab” box. If it is unchecked a tab will not be shown on your site's navigation.
